You picked out the perfect ring, secured the ultimate New York backdrop, hired a photographer, and successfully kept the biggest secret of your life. Then, you drop to one knee, ask the question, and hear the word you’ve been waiting for: “Yes!”
The ring is on their finger, the crowd around you is clapping, and a massive wave of relief washes over you. The most stressful part is officially over!

Catching your breath and soaking it allllll in
After that "Yes!" the world completely stops for the two of you. There might be tears, shaking hands, endless hugging, or just pure laughter.
What I do: I don’t rush in. I will start capturing the moment from a safe distance away, and then gradually get closer for those authentic reaction shots. After the main moment is captured, I’ll give you two some time to catch your breath. The raw, unfiltered emotion of these first few minutes makes for some of the most candid frames of your entire gallery. You get to stare at the ring and realize you’re officially engaged
Hey, there!!
Once the initial shock settles, I’ll step out and walk over to formally introduce myself to you two!
What we do: Your partner will finally realize that the random person hanging out nearby was actually there for them the whole time! We’ll chat for a quick minute to get the vibes right, laugh about the nerves, and let the remaining jitters melt away.
Your NYC Proposal Shoot!
Now that the secret is out, we transition into a fun and relaxed photoshoot for the rest of our time together!
What we do: We’ll begin walking our planned route through the city. Don't worry if you've never been in front of a professional camera before. I will lead the way and handle all the posing details so you can fully enjoy being newly engaged. I love using a mix of classic poses and guided prompts designed to bring out genuine laughter and the authenticity of your relationship.
Tips for a Flawless Proposal Shoot
Keep the phones in your pockets: The urge to FaceTime family immediately is real, but try to give yourselves this time to be entirely in the present moment with each other. The texts and calls can wait until you're having a celebratory glass of champagne afterward!
Actually.. take everything out of your pockets: Before your get down on your knee, put your phone and wallet in your back pockets to avoid the bunching up while you're on your knee! I'll also have you empty your pockets for the photos too, so bring a bag!
Coordinate your aesthetic: To make your photos pop, I always recommend leaning into elevated neutrals. Pairing crisp blacks, soft greys, or a deep brown keeps the focus entirely on you and your brand-new ring, rather than distracting patterns. Try to match what your partner is wearing, without arousing too much suspicion.
By the time our session is wrapped up, my goal is for you to walk away feeling more in love than when we started—and with a gallery of stunning photos to prove it.
